Fareham Town FC are really excited to announce that we will be setting up our very first girls football team from the start of the new season, September 2018.
Girls football is becoming extremely popular and we are hoping to provide local girls with the opportunity to start or continue their development, within the support of a well-established footballing environment.
Initially, we will start off with an under 14’s team and are hoping to attract girls currently in school years 7 & 8, who will be moving up to years 8 & 9 in September. The plan will be to establish this side next season, with further teams in different age groups then following the season after.
If your daughter has played before or indeed, would like to start, and she is in the age group we are looking for, then Fareham Town will be the ideal team for you.
Fareham Town FC have been established since 1947 and have a successful men’s team playing in the Wessex premier league, we also have 18 boy’s teams within the youth section across various ages and are continuing to achieve high standards.
As an FA chartered club, we are committed to the highest standards and expectations, ensuring that all players are safe, with qualified coaches and approved coaching practices, all designed to ensure that your daughter enjoys all aspects of the game.
In preparation for the new season, we have already secured home and away kits sponsored by local businesses Prestige Telecom and KJL Consulting for which we are most grateful.
Local support does not stop there! Gem Hellier an ex Portsmouth women’s player and professional for 17 years has kindly agreed to help the girls with a couple of training sessions and an ex Fareham Town player Emma Pickering now of Meon Cross school has offered to come along to chat to the girls about her experience playing for the club and what it means to pull on the Fareham shirt.
The club is really feeling positive about the new girls’ team and are looking forward to them coming on board. They want to push the project forward to make sure we create a legacy at the club for girls too!
All we need now is your daughter to come and join us.
